The original photograph, taken by Koppel of Kate Moss and Naomi Campbell at the London fashion Awards at the Natural History Museum in 1993, shows the pair walking down the steps of the famous Museum after the customary dinner to celebrate the Awards. Walking backwards down the stairs Koppel was one of only two photographers allowed in to attend the event and this picture made most of the following days' national and international newspapers.

Kiki was supplied with a colour photograph on canvas from which he then had free reign to express himself, putting the iconic models on a pale blue background and in keeping with their background in fashion pinned it on a chequered piece of fabric. Adding a painted third and mysterious figure, the title refers to a word often associated with people who have a love of fashion.
